Pocket Potassium Meter
For the accurate measurement of potassium in whole blood, plasma, milk and abomasal fluid.
HORIBA's unique compact meter integrates the electrode, display and sample container to enable simple, effective on-site testing by direct measurement from a single drop or sample immersion.
Hypokalemia may be seen in lactating dairy cattle suffering from abomasal impaction, displacement or volvulus. Further complications of calving such as clinical mastitis and retained placenta may also result in significantly reduced potassium levels. Treatment for hypokalaemia should be informed by accurate and frequent testing of potassium levels to avoid excessive administration and adverse outcomes for livestock.
Small animals may suffer from potassium disturbance due to gastrointestinal, renal, metabolic or cardiac issues or interventions. Regular, accurate monitoring before, during and after treatment is required for optimum levels to be restored.
